| Vertical Aerial Photography | ||

Vertical photography is taken through an opening in the floor of the plane. The GPS coordinates of the target area are selected as acurately as possible during prefight planning. Several photos are taken in a row to ensure the target is framed perfectly in at least one shot. Different altitudes may be flown to vary the coverage area. If necessary, images may be joined together digitally to form a mosaic. Normally, verticals are overlayed with site plans, plats or other infrastructure to enable the developer to view trees, wetlands and other geological interests which may impact placement. Monthly progress photos provide an invaluable monitoring resource to off-site developers, banks and investors. This image was shot at 1000 above the ground. It covers about 1200' x 1800' using a wide angle lens of 24mm. If you zoom in, as shown in the lower left corner, you can see amazing detail. Verticals are also excellent tools for: Power line or Rail monitoring |
